For many years of development, the warm floor has become quite popular among the population. Such a floor is no longer a luxury, and the number of those who want to mount this heating system is constantly growing. Warm floor can be used not only as the main heating, but also as a secondary heating of individual rooms. Most often, the warm floor is installed in new houses or apartments that were bought without finishing. However, it is possible to insulate the floor and in the old building.
First you need to dismantle the previous coating, and then give the floor a flat surface. After this, a concrete screed is made – the floor is poured with a concrete solution. A layer of special thermal insulation (usually from polypenolate) or specialized foil is applied to the aligned surface of concrete. Such a layer plays the role of a kind of thermal reflector, and does not allow the heat to go down. In the upper part, in proportion to the floor surface, observing a distance of 15 – 20 centimeters from each other, an electric cable or heating pipes, the diameter of which should be 20 millimeters, is applied in the form of a snake. After these actions, the whole system must be filled with concrete. The thickness of the new layer is approximately 3 – 5 centimeters. After all these manipulations, a special material is superimposed on top of concrete – the flooring (it can be tiles, linoleum or carpet). The boundary of the warm floor should not go beyond the doorway.
