The facade of the building is not only the facade as such, but also the face of your house. And in order for the house to retain its face as long as possible, it is necessary not only to choose a good and durable paint, but also to properly prepare the surface.
The surface itself should be strong and dense, as well as a treated primer. The easiest way to check the surface for suitability for primer can be using ordinary tape. Adhesive tape must be tightly glued to the surface of the facade and tear off after a minute. If pieces of old paint remain on adhesive tape, then it is worth cleaning the surface of the paint. You can remove it either using sandpaper, or using a sandblasting apparatus. The first method is suitable if the spots are small, and the second, if large areas are painted with paint. There are frequent cases when on the base of concrete, there are spots from the formwork, which can be removed with a solvent.
However, far from always the surface of the adhesive tape is filled with certain particles of building materials, and therefore, if there are no paint particles left on the adhesive tape, then you can safely proceed to the surface of the surface. Many people wonder: “Why it is necessary to primer the surface?”. The answer is simple – the primer increases the clutch between the paint and the stained surface, and also fills out various pores, chips and holes on the surface, which, in turn, reduces the consumption of paint. After the surface of the surface is completed, you can start staining the facade.
