Historical motifs from the beginning of the last century — Art Deco, ornaments, antique elements — are back in fashion. In 2025, it will be a hundred years since the opening of the exhibition in Paris that gave the Art Deco style its name, so interest in this theme and style is now great.
The diversity of Art Deco is manifested in a variety of areas — in furniture, textiles and other types of decorative and applied art. Motifs from the late 1920s and 1930s have been rethought and adapted to modern requirements, but at key exhibitions of interior items, the homage to this period is immediately noticeable. Of particular interest is Art Deco furniture, and it is better if it is vintage, antique — that is, real. For example, at the Maison & Objet exhibition in Paris, there was an entire stand by Alessandro Marconi dedicated to the object environment inspired by artifacts from the Saint-Ouen flea market.
Among the current materials for making small decorative items are ceramics and glass. They are experiencing a real renaissance and are actively used in design. The easiest to introduce into the interior are ceramic vases of unusual shapes, decorative plates or panels that can be placed on the walls. They will add texture to the space and bring an artistic accent. Glass elements, such as lamps with multi-colored shades, mirrors of unusual shapes or transparent coffee tables, will help create a feeling of lightness in the space.
