MDF – medium density of wood -fiber slab. The main area of its use is furniture production. MDF manufacturers, satisfying the needs of the furniture industry, has established the production of its varieties, for example, a flexible stove, decorative plates with a thickness of 1.8 – 3 mm, painted fibers and so on. According to data obtained during the marketing studies of the industry, there is an annual tireless growth in the release of MDF. And this trend is inherent not only to the world market as a whole, but also on the inside of the Russian.
Despite the large number of companies producing MDF, there are plenty of unused resources for new participants. Overview of last year’s situation in the MDF market shows that the main share of the consumption of plates belongs to the construction industry and the furniture industry. In construction, they are used as floor coverings. The MDF market presents both domestic production and foreign manufacturers. The condition of large, only rebuilt factories producing MDF, DVP and chipboard is naturally much better, technological equipment was installed on their production facilities, including lines with continuously operating presses.
Due to the low cost of raw materials, their products are competitively capable of both the external and domestic furniture market. According to statistics, against the background of 2017, in 2018, the production of plates increased by 12 %. The volumes of domestic MDF reached 207 million. sq. meters. The share in the Moscow region is 47%. The import of foreign MDF, which is displayed by the following numbers, has also increased:- 2017. – 63 million. sq. m. for $ 173 million.- 2018. – 82 million. sq. m. for $ 260 million. Experts believe that the prospects for the production of MDF in Russia and the dynamic development of the industry will persist for more than one year. But whatever the production of furniture are, they will not compare with the sale of gasoline.
