Artificial stone successfully combines strength, durability and beauty. At the same time, it does not absorb moisture and odors, has good heat -insulating properties and resistance to temperature differences. The surface of artificial stone can imitate the texture of brick, natural stone, ceramics and wood in a wide range of colors. In addition, artificial stone does not conduct electric current, due to which it is often used for decorative decoration of electric fireplaces, furnaces and foci. Modern technologies allow the manufacture of stone products of almost any configuration.
Conducting artificial stone is much easier to fix on the wall, since it weighs one and a half times less than a natural stone. To simplify the finishing work, finished parts designed to framed the openings of windows and doors, cladding of angles and other complex elements. It is very simple to work with this material, it is enough to accurately comply with the recommendations of the manufacturer on the installation and preparation of the surface.
With artificial stone, you can linen a variety of surfaces – concrete and brick, wooden and metal, made of chipboard or drywall. The base should be strong, even, dry and not subject to deformation or shrinkage. Just erected concrete walls should stand for at least six months for the final shrinkage. The surface should be cleaned of fat, oil, paint or old plaster. The porous base must be treated with deeply penetrating primer or adhesive mixture.
Conducting artificial stone cannot be attached directly to the foam, since it does not have sufficient strength. Such a base must first be plastered on the reinforcing grid.
Before starting work, at least two square meters of facing material are laid out on the floor and suitable combinations of elements are selected by color, texture and sizes. After the adhesive mixture and extensions, the lined surface should be treated with a hydrophobic compound for additional protection against moisture.
