People often wonder when it is more correct to install new doors – before the start of repair or after it. Professionals recommend putting the box at the very beginning of construction work, then closing them with ordinary cellophane film and tape. And it doesn’t matter if you install interior doors from an array, entrance or simplest doors from chipboard – the main thing is that they need to be allegedly as accurately as possible along the wall, fixed with anchors and putting it in.
If this process is carried out after repairing adjacent walls, then there is a rather high probability of spoiling them when dismantling an old box and drilling holes for new anchors. In a word, the work will have to be redone over again.
Stages of installation of doors
First of all, you need to collect a new lutka. This process is best done on a flat floor, so as not to get a skew of the structure. Keep in mind that a gap of 3-5 millimeters should remain between the beam and the door leaf (for the front door-up to 8 mm.).
The second stage – hanging the door leaf. Two loops are enough for veneered doors, but it is better to hang the doors from oak three. Typically, the loops are placed 250 mm from the bottom and the top of the door, the third loop is fixed either in the middle, or at a distance of 500 millimeters from the upper. They are deepened into grooves made by a chisel to a depth of 2-3 millimeters.
The third stage is the installation of pens and locks. Usually they are mounted at an altitude of 850 mm. from the bottom of the door leaf, taking into account the width of the locking element. All work is carried out by a drill and a chisel.
After the completion of these procedures, you can start installing the door in place. First equal to the level or plumb line with loops, fixing it in a strictly vertical position. Then the lutka is crumple with wooden wedges and put up the second rack. You can also check the horizontal lutka level so that it does not work out a skew. If necessary, the box can be lifted with the same wedges. Then loops are placed, the door is hung and the final leveling of the racks is carried out. If they have not moved anywhere, then feel free to fasten the box to the wall and fill the cracks with foam.
