Ceiling tiles The most common ceiling decoration option. Its advantages include low price and ease of installation. Having decided to glue the tile to the ceiling, first, you need to calculate the required amount. It is recommended to purchase with a small margin, in case of tile breakdown, or defense. Tiles are glued to “liquid nails”.
The ceiling should be prepared. Remove the wallpaper, remove paint, clear and putty cracks. Starting laying, we determine the central point. The cords are extended along the diagonals and two perpendicular lines are drawn from this point.
The first panel is glued so that one of its corner is exactly to the central point. If it is difficult to install the tile exactly at the central point, then glue the tiles from the wall opposite the front door, or from the corners.
Rows glue parallel to each other. Tiles are laid as close to each other as possible, trying to make no gaps. Tiles often have different sizes, therefore, at the beginning it is recommended to attach it to the ceiling, try on, and if there is a discrepancy, cut off excess with a knife.
The joint with the wall is sealed with cornice, profile, or wooden rail. You can use the guts – with a special ceiling plinth, one edge of which is glued to the wall and the other to the ceiling.
It is not difficult to care for such ceilings. If it is laminated, then such a ceiling can be wiped with a damp cloth dipped in soapy solution. If the tiles are unfinished, then wet cleaning is not recommended. Such tiles are cleaned with a vacuum cleaner with a nozzle, or a dry rag.
