In palaces and mansions, the floors consisted of small polished wooden dies, called parquet. Production and proper laying of parquet is a whole art.
At a new round of development, Parquet was continued in a new, technological material, which is called laminate. Laminate is made of wood chips, cellulose and with a coating of special material, hence the name.
Laminate is much cheaper than the parquet, in addition, for example, when selling the Alloc Prestige Wide laminate, you can get significant discounts.
Special grooves are made along the edge of each board – locks. This coating is closest to natural. You can lay the laminate on a new concrete screed or on any solid, strong and fairly even surface.
First of all, a special substrate is applied to the surface cleaned from dust and dirt. This is a film made of polyethylene or polypropylene, it plays the role of vapor barrier. Secondly, the laminate panels actually laid.
For proper styling, you need to know several rules. Rule one: along the walls and any other motionless object, we leave gaps of at least 10 mm, compensating for the thermal expansion of the laminate. Rule second: if the length of the floor exceeds 8-10 meters, a compensation bar is used. Rule third: the first and last bar should be at least 5 cm long. Rule fourth: each next row to the previous one is laid with a displacement to create a strong and whole coating on the floor.
We complete work on laying the coating by installing skirting boards. Laminate – a strong, reliable flooring for the floor that will last a long time.
