Technical characteristics of wood and combustion plates

May 3, 2019

In various areas of the construction sphere, such material as wood-and-cutting stoves or abbreviated chipboard is widely known. They are made from pressed particles of wood, chips, shakes, secondary wood or sawdust, to which a binder composition in the form of synthetic resins is necessarily added. The raw materials for wood and overall resins are the most different low-value coniferous or deciduous wood. Adds such as hydrophobizing and antiseptic provide significant durability of such material.

The slabs are divided into their density, so high densities have characteristics in the range of 700-800 kg/m3, medium-from 650 to 750, small from 450 to 650 and very small is 350-450 kg/m3. Depending on the number of layers, wood-and-piece slabs can be one, three and five-layer slabs. The advantages of chipboard over other materials include a lower price, high strength and good water resistance, ease of processing during drilling or milling, strict or gluing, painting or sawing. All products made of wood-and-based plates are resistant to lesions, from any insects.

The price of chipboard is several orders of magnitude lower than for a natural tree, and at the same time this material does not swell from moisture, the products from it will not be crumpled in cases associated with a change in humidity in the room and it almost does not burn. In addition to all these advantages, the heat -insulating and soundproofing qualities of chipboard are widely used widely used. There are not so many disadvantages of this material, this is that it weighs more than natural wood and, along with a tree, is very prone to fungal mold. Therefore, chipboard is not recommended to be used in conditions of high humidity.

The main drawback of chipboard is the dangerous content of synthetic resins, which are used as a binder for wood particles. But here there is a way out that two types of chipboard are produced, this is E1 and E2. The chipboard, characteristic of the type E1, are environmentally friendly, in which the content of formaldehyde hazardous to human health, which is part of synthetic resins that binding wood. More dangerous chipboard E2 is prohibited to use furniture for children. In connection with the above, acquiring chipboard, you should carefully read the quality of the quality certificate.
