How to independently replace corrugation in the toilet

November 5, 2019

The replacement of the corrugation in the toilet is a very responsible task that needs an immediate response, because the terrible toilet can create serious inconvenience. Due to the leaks of the corrugation, a persistent unpleasant odor, increased humidity and other concomitant problems may appear, the list of which is quite a wide.

It is now recommended to use plastic corrugations because they have a number of advantages over cast iron, because they are more durable, are not amenable to corrosion processes, and are also very convenient to install. Plastic corrugation connects the toilet neck and sewage. If the junction of the corrugation with the toilet or its entrance to the sewer proceeds, then it is necessary to change the corrugation. This is not difficult enough, because the dimensions of the corrugation itself, as well as the holes that it connects, are standard, which excludes the need to adjust the size for each individual case. You can purchase a corrugation without problems in a specialized store or in the market, and its installation requires not a very large number of special knowledge.

You can try to close the damaged places of the corrugation using a special sealant, but such work is not very effective, so it is recommended to complete corrugation to replace the corrugation. During this procedure, it is very important to choose reliable and high -quality material. It is recommended not to save on the corrugation, because in the opposite case, its replacement may well become a traditional occupation, that it is unlikely that anyone will like. The best option would be to replace the old corrugation with a new stainless steel reinforced. Its price is slightly higher than ordinary, but it can last an order of magnitude longer. Gofra replacement work will also require a tube of special plumbing sealant.

The replacement of the corrugation must begin with the dismantling of the old. It is necessary to carefully clean the toilet neck from a variety of sealant residues. This is necessary in order for the tribe of the corrugation to be able to tightly sit on the neck. After dressing the bell, the second part of the corrugation is inserted into the sewage system, after which the joints are processed using plumbing sealants. After hardening the sealant, it is necessary to check the work of the rim, after which you can consider the work to replace the corrugation with complete.
